Netflix Best Horror Movies
Welcome to our technology page, in my resources online blog. If you’re looking for something scary to watch on Netflix, we have got the real deal: here are 10 terrifying horror movies you should watch right now. The following is a list of ten terrifying Netflix movies that are also Netflix’s Best Horror Movies.
Best 10 Horror Movies On Netflix
1. Green Room (2015)
is a survival horror film in which the monsters are Nazis. It’s about a young punk band who finds themselves playing at a national socialist venue hidden somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, and things quickly go from bad to worse when they witness a murder and find themselves trapped in the venue’s green room.
2. Session 9 (2001)
If you want to visit the real Lovecraft country, it’s in Salem Village, Massachusetts. In 1871, Danvers built a state hospital called the Danvers Insane Asylum, which was inspired by h.p. love craft’s Arkham asylum. Before the building was demolished, they shot this psychological horror film on location inside the abandoned hospital. The plot revolves around a cleaning company that is afraid to enter the building but accepts the job anyway. I won’t give away any more details because the twists make this such an exciting watch. This is among the best Netflix horror movies to watch at home.
3. The Ritual (2017)
Although it uses a familiar concept of college friends hiking through the woods and encountering people who hold creepy ancient traditions, the film is notable for its craftsmanship. British director David Bruckner, who is also attached to the upcoming Hellraiser reboot, adds layers of mystery to heighten the tension, and when monsters are seen, the creature designs are extremely original.
4. It Comes at Night (2017)
This film, like Green Room, is set in Oregon, where a disease has wiped out the majority of the population, and a family decides to share a house deep in the woods with fellow survivors they aren’t sure they can trust.
5. Insidious (2010)
Before making billion-dollar films like Aquaman and Furious 7, director James Juan directed this PG-13 rated horror film about a family terrified by their supernatural son. It wasn’t as well received by critics as some of the other movies on this list, but his jump scares are really a fun ride and will undoubtedly become a modern classic among much of the horror community.
6. Hush (2016)
This list would be incomplete without a home invasion film, hush is one of the best. It takes the assembly line setup we’ve seen countless times, where a writer moves into a new house in the woods and they’re targeted by some crazed killer, but it adds a twist the protagonist is deaf. If you’re looking for two hours of pure unrelenting tension, try hush.
7. Apostle (2018)
Apostle is a gothic period piece about a London man attempting to rescue his sister from a cult. It is written and directed by Gareth Edwards, who was previously known for the Indonesian action film The Raid. Over the course of 130 minutes, he proves that he can tackle many genres, mutating a horror mystery into a fantastical kind of grim fairy tale.
8. Cam (2018)
Cam is a techno-thriller about a cam girl who is replaced by a mysterious woman who looks exactly like her. Like most great horror films, this reflects the fears of the time, in this case, the fear of losing your online identity. If this sounds a little dry, trust me it isn’t, this gets extremely creepy and features a stellar performance by Madeleine Brewer.
9. The killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)
The killing of a sacred deer is a story about a surgeon whose family is terrorized by a godlike teenager it mixes psychological and body horror with very brief moments of deeply dark comedy it’s a masterpiece of discomfort directed by jorgo slantemos who previously brought us dogtooth in the lobster.
10. Poltergeist (1982)
There’s a reason why so many modern horror films try to imitate the look of 70s and early 80s films; it’s because that era gave us classics that still haunt people’s dreams. Did you know that poltergeist is rated pg and written by Steven Spielberg? That doesn’t seem like it should be on this terrifying horror list, but this film about a little girl communicating with ghosts through her imagination is.
Let me know in the comments if you think there’s a horror movie on Netflix that I missed.
