1. University of Oxford

Oxford University will continue its dominance as the best university in the UK in 2021. The elite institution lost a place in last year’s rankings and is now the fifth best university in the world, while the rival University of Cambridge remains in seventh place.

The 2021 QS World University Rankings includes a total of 90 UK universities – six more than the previous year. Four of these institutions are in the world’s top 10 and four others are in the world’s top 50.

In first place in the UK is the University of Oxford again this year, which has dropped one place to fifth in the world. With high scores on all indicators, Oxford is the top-ranked school in the UK in terms of teacher-student ratio (8th place) and faculty citations (44th place).

2. Cambridge University

As usual, this is a battle between the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge for first place in the UK rankings. Cambridge again ranks second and seventh in the world. However, Cambridge is the UK’s top-ranked university for academic reputation and employers, second in the world on this indicator.

3. Imperial College London

4. University College London (UCL)
